Writing in a Winter Wonderland

Okay, so it's not exactly a winter wonderland in Florida but at least it finally got a little cooler today.  Like in the 60's.  Ugh.

I hope that you are enjoying your holiday's and have been feasting on great food, surrounded by good company, and enjoying time off from work.  My time has been spent writing!  Yeah!   And what better way to write than with the cutest kitten sleeping away on my lap (yes, I have dogs on my pajamas).

After finishing the first draft of my dissertation (a major weight off my shoulders), I've been able to focus on the final book of The Syrenka Series.  I am proud to say that it is outlined and I'm 11,000 words in right now.  Although I had a title in mind earlier this year, I do think it's going to change...I just don't know what it will be yet.  Perhaps it will speak to me as the story unfolds!

And speaking of the story...I wish that I could just take everything floating around in my mind and instantly translate that to text.  I'd probably write a book a day that way!  But since I'm stuck with the more time consuming typing method, I think this book will be finished in a couple of weeks.  My goal is a chapter a night or at least five chapters per week.  Since I'm already at chapter five after three days, I think that this time table might work!  Yes, I have to schedule's the way I function best.  Goals and accomplishments - it's what keeps me going!

So now I'll head back to Eviana, who is in a bit of a bind at the moment, and see if I can get her to the next scene.  Happy holidays to you and happy writing to all!
