My Saint Patrick's Day Resolution

With the family name of Gallagher, there's no denying my Irish blood and an excuse to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day.  Although I'm not going to be drinking any green beer or getting pinched in a parade, I am going to take this day to hold myself to a new resolution I'd like to begin immediately.

I spoke the other day about an epiphany I had regarding book reviews, and that epiphany was...I need to provide more reviews for all of the books that I read.  I am very quickly realizing how beneficial written reviews are on sites such as Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble and I am grateful for every one I receive.  Of course, not all ratings come with a review (aka - my ratings) but I'm going to do my best to change that from now on.

As an author, I really want to know what the reader liked and didn't liked and what may stop them from buying another one of my books (or hopefully see that they can't wait for the next installment).  So I am going to make a conscious effort to address that as a reader myself.  Especially for indie and small press authors.  I've even been toying with the idea of dedicating a portion of my blog to book reviews (mostly self-pub authors).  So perhaps that will happen too.

But in the mean time, I resolve to be a better reviewer and rater and do the very things I hope my readers will do for me!

Happy Saint Patty's Day to all!
