Summary from Goodreads:
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

The Review: Katy's been captured and Daemon will get her back. Origin was BY FAR my favorite of the series. Be it because we got to hear from someone other than Katy, or the fact that something intense happened in every chapter, I was one happy reader. We had suspense, fascinating new characters (and science), the death of main characters, and another cliffhanger that was just perfect (albeit, a cliffhanger). This book was solid and I couldn't put it down. The only time I felt like I could step away, was when Katy and Daemon took their little side trip in Vegas. I don't want to spoil it, but I felt like that step in their relationship was totally unnecessary and a little too much. Perhaps I'm biased or maybe I just didn't see the point. However, after that moment, all hell broke lose (again) and one thrill after another kept me on the edge of my seat. I was quite happy to see the the ending because I've been wondering about how the Black's actions would end up haunting them. As a whole, an excellent book and I can't wait to read the next!

The Good: Intense (emotionally, physically, pacing) and a lot of great action.

The Issue: Katy and Daemon's side trip to Vegas - kind of slowed things down for me.

The Rating: 5 conch. Awesome. Amazing. A must read!
